WelcomeTo My Breast Cancer Story |
|
In Short:- I was Diagnosed with Advanced Grade 2 Breast Cancer with wide spread calcification in May 2007 and I was told it was a well a behaved cancer that was was Hormone Receptive. I had 8 rounds of Chemotherapy, a Bilateral Mastectomy with Immediate Reconstrction. At the time of surgery I also had my ovaries removed and had a full lymph node removal. The results were that 9 out of the 16 nodes removed were positive of cancer and the HER2 testing came back positive.... So much for well behaved. I then had 15 sessions of Radiotherapy and put onto hormone therapy and herceptin. I thought I had beat it
In April 2009 I was diagnosed with secondries to my hip and spine, After just 4 months I had an emergency surgery to my spine and in Nov 2009 a small nodule was found in my liver along with a lump on my neck. After 6 more chemo treatments my liver and neck nodes were clear and there was a vast reduction in my spine... All was well until Dec 2010... the ugly squatters were again squatting and multiplying in my liver. New treatment is Capcitabine chemo tablet along with Lapatineb for my Her2 status. This chemo will be ongoing for as long as it continues to work and will have Scans after every 3rd cycle
Through a positive mind I am determined that I will beat it. It's my body and the cancer can't have it.
